gaudette, le toux and now possibly cahill?! has this been the busiest transfer season for the club ever?
Anyone going to the heat stroke bowl tomorrow? What a ridiculous start time for a soccer game in July, in New Jersey! I’ve been debating whether or not to go, but the team really needs to beat Chicago to maintain our position in the standings. They need as much support as possible.
I have tickets for Sunday’s game, Holgersson,Rafa and Thierry are definitely playing but Pearce,Solli and Tainio are out. Its going to be a hard game without Pearce defending… I still have faith! we gotta keep our undefeated record at home!!!
okay ladies…. lets getting ready for the majority of the rest of the season at home! we still have no losses at home and less travel is going to help the injuries.
we will top the east! who’s going on sunday?
I will be there! Hopefully Henry & Marquez will be back. Don’t know about Pierce, but I think we will be covered.
So I thought volunteering was fun last game, but today was even better. I met Henry!! Well, kind of. He walked into the Arena the same way as last game, but this time I was standing right there with a couple other volunteers/employees. I obviously didn’t wanna stare, and he was talking on his phone, so I fidgeted with the radio I had, and…[Read more]
What a great story. I’m glad that Henry was pleasant to the volunteers. It says a lot about his character in my opinion, especially given the fallout after the game. For those that don’t know, Henry refused to talk to the media and there has been a major backlash from the local RBNY beat reporters. They are pissed about him and Rafa Marquez…[Read more]
Yea I was reading all the backlash about them not giving interviews, and thinking the same thing. He in no way needed to acknowledge us at all.. he was on the phone and preparing for his first game back, so I would’ve totally understood if he looked down and kept walking – but he took the time to say hi and make our day. All the employees were…[Read more]
While I am sad to Juan Agudelo leave the Red Bulls, I am looking forward to seeing what Heath Pearce can do for us. Right now, he is definitely bringing the hotness to RBNY: <img src="http://twitpic.com/show/thumb
oh yay! he sure is a handsome man!
i’m sad to see agudelo go, but that got a little easier when it was revealed that he wanted to go. not that i didn’t suspect that, but hearing it made it a lil easier. i’d rather not have someone who doesn’t want to be here. it seems like the game on wednesday will be awkward. maybe more for the fans than…[Read more]
Did anyone do the meet & greet on Wednesday’s game? I totally blushed hard when I met Keel. There’s a deal on Living Social for the next home game on the 23 for another meet and greet before the game.
I didn’t do the meet & greet because I was volunteering, but I did have a great experience of my own. For all the previous games, my volunteering pretty much meant I got to the arena 8 hrs before game time, which gave us just enough time to set up the Interactive Zone. (A lot of work and heavy lifting goes into that thing, let me tell you.) Once…[Read more]
i’m going to the one this coming wednesday against chivas. what time did you get there? trying to make sure we don’t get there too early or too late.
the meet and greet starts at 5pm at Gate D if u purchased that Living Social deal. we were given a hard time by some workers because we went to the will call to show our vouchers first like the email instructed us. there weren’t a lot of people there. I only knew what time it started cuz I called the RB office at that RBSoccer #.
thank you mari for the info! i brought my voucher to the last game since it said to bring it to an earlier game and they looked at me like i was crazy. but told me that i could get the tix til the day of.
make sure u bring the original vouchers to get the tix at will call first and then a copy of the vouchers to show them that ur there for the meet and greet at Gate D.
Third straight win for the boys in white! Loving these clean sheets from Meara=]
Can’t wait to see Agudelo on the pitch and McCarty to fill in our swiss cheese defense. Go REDBULLS!!!
it was great to see him playing again! really hope to see him get more time each week.
”Defender Stephen Keel is the newest addition to the injuries list… he joins Jan Gunnar Solli, Wilman Conde, Roy Miller, Teemu Tainio and Juan Agudelo on the sidelines.”
ugh. hopefully being at home will be an advantage on saturday. maybe?
UGH!!!! We can only hope for a good outcome. The fans need to be super supportive on Saturday. The backline will be made up of very young players. Between Ruthevn, Lade, Holgersson and Barklage, they have only appeared/started 10 MLS games. Yikes!
how do you ladies feel about the suspension the disciplinary committee handed down to rafa after his tackle and kick on salinas last week? too much? not enough?
based on the other suspensions they’ve given this year and last, and rafa’s constant behavior problems, i thought it should have been more. i have no doubt that the kick was…[Read more]
I felt that the suspension is appropriate. I feel like Rafa has been working against the team more than helping. I hope the red bulls really start to consider letting him out of his contract sooner rather than later. This is his last contracted year on the team, right?
with the major endorsements the corp office is doing with rafa’s image out west, i don’t think they’re going to try to get out of his contract, at least not this season. he signed in 2010 and it was a 3 1/2 year contract.
Take my reply with a grain of salt as I am an all out Quakes fan. Marquez’s 3-game suspension was absolutely not enough. To put his punishment for this offense on the same terms as throwing a ball at Donovan last season is just inappropriate. I was expecting at least 5-games due to his being a repeat offender.
However, some of the blame must be…[Read more]
i expected a 5 game based on the zukani/mullan incident last year. but was surprised that the bear hug and tackle were not the offense they were focusing on (they = disciplinary committee, commentators and the like) – it was that kick. and that kick is what infuriated me as a red bull fan. that was unsportsmanlike and disgraceful. and…[Read more]
Except that, as was proven last night, the team has played better this year with Rafa in the line-up. First two games, no Rafa, no Conde = Loss. Second two games, Rafa, Conde (Henry & Cooper together) = Blow-out wins. Next two games, Rafa, no Conde, Tainio = Win & Tie. Last night, no Conde, no Rafa, no Tainio, no Miller = Total freaking…[Read more]
last night was ridiculous. it was a disaster in every sense of the word. when rafa isn’t busy being a drama-queen, he’s a good asset to the team. but i can’t say i really saw too much of that in the games he played. could it just be the coincidence of him playing? i’m not sure. i just keep crossing my fingers that rafa turns a new leaf and is…[Read more]
What a weird game Saturday night! The first 40 minutes were flowing, creative and fun with sweet goals from Dax and Cooper. And, then, Rafa happened. While it occurred in front of me, I didn’t see the actual hit because there were so many bodies tussling around during the corner kick. I only saw Salinas face-down on the pitch after the whistle…[Read more]
Who’s going to the game tomorrow? We should try to have a WUFC meetup if you guys are interested.
Empire of Soccer posted this on Twitter today, and i gave me a good laugh…. thought i’d share it here….
Love it!
the fact that henry does stuff like that makes me love him even more.
Revenge will happen May 19th!
I played in High School and had the chance to see some of the old Cosmos matches in Giants Stadium. Then, a long lull of not following soccer until I signed my 5 yr old son up. Nothing like having a child in a […]
