It’s not a game memory (as the Red Bulls didn’t create many positive ones this week,) but Tim Cahill to New York definitely was the most memorable thing to happen this week for me! I’m not an Everton fan per se, […]
Yea I was reading all the backlash about them not giving interviews, and thinking the same thing. He in no way needed to acknowledge us at all.. he was on the phone and preparing for his first game back, so I would’ve totally understood if he looked down and kept walking – but he took the time to say hi and make our day. All the employees were…[Read more]
So I thought volunteering was fun last game, but today was even better. I met Henry!! Well, kind of. He walked into the Arena the same way as last game, but this time I was standing right there with a couple other volunteers/employees. I obviously didn’t wanna stare, and he was talking on his phone, so I fidgeted with the radio I had, and…[Read more]
What a great story. I’m glad that Henry was pleasant to the volunteers. It says a lot about his character in my opinion, especially given the fallout after the game. For those that don’t know, Henry refused to talk to the media and there has been a major backlash from the local RBNY beat reporters. They are pissed about him and Rafa Marquez…[Read more]

I didn’t do the meet & greet because I was volunteering, but I did have a great experience of my own. For all the previous games, my volunteering pretty much meant I got to the arena 8 hrs before game time, which gave us just enough time to set up the Interactive Zone. (A lot of work and heavy lifting goes into that thing, let me tell you.) Once…[Read more]
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first sexist incident connected with the MLS. This article does a good job of summing some up: http://www.thegoatparade.com/2012/5/1/2991940/sexism-for-major-league-soccers-official-media-rears-it-head-again Unfortunately, misogyny is pretty much accepted, and even expected in sports. Cheerleaders and dancers are…[Read more]
Who’s going to the game tomorrow? We should try to have a WUFC meetup if you guys are interested.
I want to see them play Celtic at Yankee Stadium, or go down to Philly for the All Star Game. Or both.
I just hope that the team’s not too depleted thanks to Euro and the Olympics.
This is definitely not good news.. although from what I’ve read, it’s not unexpected. Apparently he stayed here after his last visa expired and hid some things when applying for that one (which is a huge issue – apparently doing that could prevent you from ever being allowed back in the US,) in addition to the incidents that occurred in the…[Read more]
haha.. my 13 year old self loved those pictures! I don’t know what I was thinking.
I’m a Bayern Munich fan. I’m also part German, and started following die Mannschaft along with the USMNT during the 2002 World Cup. Between 2002 and 2006 I mostly followed international soccer and the MLS, but […]
While it was a loss, and there were a lot of things that could be improved upon, (defense!) there were also a lot of things that made me optimistic:
-Agudelo getting the start – I also wasn’t happy with his […]
So, why are you a Red Bulls fan? Are you from the NY area and just wanted to support the local team? Were you an Arsenal or France fan and started support the Red Bulls when Henry signed? What’s your story? […]
