A solid win over a good rival on the field. Twenty-year-old Mexican-American forward; Miah Zuazua put the “Felines” on the board in the sixth minute when Atlas goalkeeper Ana Gaby Paz punched out the ball into the box. She was able to fake out a defender, and hit a shot past Paz’s position. The rest of the first half was fairly even. Atlas was able to get a couple of shots before the first half ended.
In the second half, “Tigres” would double the lead in the 55th minute when Greta Espinoza was able to go up, and get her head onto a corner kick and put it past the goalkeeper. Atlas scored their first goal until the 61st minute when Maritza Maldonado was able to get a deflected corner kick and knock it past Ofelia. That was the closest they were able to get in the scoreboard. In the 69th minute Espinoza was able to head another corner kick in past Paz to put them 3-1. But Nancy Antonio would seal the final score in a converted penalty. They finished the season in second place.
