With the only goal the home team scored that put them as the leader of Group A. Alex Castro’s goal during the 1st half in the 27th minute gave them their second victory. They now have six valuable points, and begin to get excited about having a chance to be part of the final in the “Liga Aguila”. During the 1st half there were few fouls, and a lot of clear chances. Campaz was the incisive player, that would try to change the outcome of the game, by trying to connect in the flanks with Plata and Castro.
Osorio’s team was the first one to generate a possibility after centering a pass, Rovira tried to change things with his header, but the ball ended up crashing in the post after the little reaction of the goalkeeper William Cuesta. Tolima took advantage of a counterattack on the right in which Plata ended up beating Mafla, centering a Pass to Ramos who sent a header pass to Castro who put Tolima 1-0 with his left leg. Nacional continued to generate dangerous possibilities, with Muñoz, and Yerson Candelo who ended up playing as a false 9. Osorio’s orders where clear, and that was for his wingers to come out more and attack. That ended up not working because Tolima almost went up after Ramos kick hit the post again.
During the second half Tolima let Nacional own the ball more. Ceppelini had three goal opportunities in his feet. But Cuesta didn’t let him go through the team couldn’t equalize. With the modifications Osorio made, he managed to have his team own the ball during most of the second half. But Tolima’s head coach Alberto Gamero solid tactical approach, backed by his men preventing the visitors from equalizing or winning the game. On Sunday Tolima will play against Cúcuta, and Nacional with Junior.
