The former LAFC midfield veteran was chosen in their third pick. LAFC will receive $50,000 in General Allocation Money. The remaining players were taken off the table for selection for the rest of the expansion draft. 33-year-old Lee made 48 regular season appearances, scored three goals and assisted 9 times. He’s known for being an attacking midfielder, and for his defensive chops. He became a two way midfielder for Bob Bradley’s scheme.
He was always the first guy off the bench in midfield. He has developed a reputation as being one of the top creative midfielders in the MLS during the eight years he’s been in the league. He’s also participated in the international level with the US Men’s National Team on nine occasions. Including two in the 2007 edition of Copa América. He began his professional career with PSV Eindhoven, in the Netherlands. Prior to joining them he attended Indiana University where he spent one season, and earned the Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.
