Twenty teams will participate, in order to secure a spot in the 2020 World Cup. Only three places will be given. The final two rounds of the competition group stage and direct elimination phase will take place between February 15 and March 1st next year. We are very excited to take the final rounds of the Concacaf 2020 U20 Women’s Championship to the Dominican Republic for the first time. This will be the tenth edition of this competition and it will always be a great platform for the best young players in our region, ”said Concacaf Secretary General Philippe Moggio.
The Félix Sánchez Stadium and the Pan American Stadium, in Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal will be the headquarters of the group stage, the round of 16 and quarterfinals. The semifinals, third place match, and the final will be played at the Félix Sánchez Stadium. After the group phase, the three best teams in each of the groups will advance to the direct elimination phase, uniting with the first four teams classified from the first phase.
The 16 participating teams have been divided into four groups of four teams as follows:
Group C: United States, Honduras, Dominican Republic and Cuba
Group D: Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico
Group E: Canada, Jamaica, Guatemala and El Salvador
Group F: Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Panama and Cayman Islands
