LAFC host the 2018 Western Conference Champions today at 4:30pm at Banc of California Stadium. A week after enduring through the coldest MLS match in league history in which they settled for a stoppage time draw, they’re rested, recovered and ready.
Players LAFC will have to watch out for today: winger Andy Polo, midfielder powerhouse Sebastian Blanco who was instrumental in the Timbers successful 2018 season, Diego Chará who has provided Portland with eight years of solid service in the midfield and Larrys Mabiala who needs to lock down the backline.
Last year in regular season, the Timbers defeated LAFC 2-1 in May at Providence Park, and played to a 0-0 tie at Banc of California on July 15.
The Timbers lack a pair of backup goalkeepers, Aljaz Ivacic and Kendall McIntosh, while Bill Tuiloma remains questionable with a right lower leg strain.
LAFC’s Alejandro Guido is out with a quad strain and André Horta remains questionable. Both have yet to make their season debut.
