Ethan Zubak, who was LA Galaxy Academy’s Blended Learning Environment valedictorian in its inaugural year, has always excelled while balanced his success on the pitch with his future off the pitch. Tonight marked his first start for LA Galaxy and he led up top in their final match of the MLS Is Back tournament. And, while his team drew Houston Dynamo, 1-1, limping out of the tournament, he remains one of the true up-and-coming youngsters to watch for as he matures.
In March 2019, the standout Homegrown Zubak signed with LA Galaxy’s first team after three seasons for LA Galaxy II in the USL. Since graduating from LA Galaxy Academy in 2016, Zubak scored the fastest hat trick in USL history, appeared in 31 games for Los Dos, starting in 24, scoring 11 goals and two assists in his time with the USL side. Zubak manages to find time progressing with his studies at UCLA as a Biology Major while pursuing his athletic efforts at the Galaxy. He has a long way to go, and minutes to get under his belt, before he is on par with his seasoned teammates, but the next time you see him on the pitch and underestimate his potential, keep in mind, he could have gone to Harvard University.
