A few cool things you might have missed about the newcomers to the net…
Tyler Miller is #1 and the goalkeeper of choice for LAFC, but what happens when he gets injured? LAFC brought on Phillip Ejimadu and Pablo Sisniega this year. Sisniega who holds a U.S. passport and a German one, was born in Mexico City and comes from athletic roots. His parents are both Olympians. His mother was a high jumper and his father competed in the pentathlon. Look for the 23-year-old from Real Sociedad B to bring some flair and style to his game. Ejimadu, also has a mixture of cultures in his background. His mother is Brazilian and his father is Nigerian. But, this 19-year-old Minnesotan roots for the U.S. in the World Cup and dreams of playing for them in the Cup one day. His goalkeeper idol is none other than Magrão, who at the age of 41 remains a reliable keeper for Sport Recife in Brazil’s Serie A. Phillip loves his “safe and quiet” style. I expect the same from him this season and can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.
