The Salvadorean National Team is still in the top 20 in the world in beach soccer. The men’s national team of “El Salvador” rose after last month in the world to become 16th in the world, climbing two places. Moreover, in CONCACAF they are number two, surpassed only by Mexico.

El Salvador outranks the United States, Panama, and the Bahamas. Rubén Batres won the award for best goal of the year from the BSWW, in the Best of the 2019 Awards, held in Dubai. The chosen goal was one when they played against Mexico in the qualifying tournament for the World Beach games in Qatar held in October.  “Thank God I could score that goal against Mexico in my country, it was to qualify for the World Beach Games. I’m thankful,” Batres proclaimed.

Batres becomes the second player in CONCACAF to win the award for Best of 2019. No one else in the rest of the confederation has ever won. But, in the first year of the award, their women’s team is ranked 13th in the world and third in CONCACAF, surpassed by Mexico and the United States.
